Dorothy J. Lightfoot

Dorothy went home to be with her Savior on Thursday, June 28, 2018, at Park Centre Health Care in Newton.    

   A time of remembrance and Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, July 6, 2018, at Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.  The Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton, have been entrusted with the arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to the family or to a charity of your choosing, in Dorothy’s name.  

   Dorothy Jean Lightfoot, 93, was born May 5, 1925, the daughter of George Blair and Goldie Bottenfield, in Osceola, Iowa, where she attended school.  

   On October 17, 1942, Dorothy Blair and Willis G. “Willie” Lightfoot were united in marriage, in Lancaster, Missouri.  She was employed by Dun-Lap Manufacturing, and a member of the Newton First Assembly of God Church.  She enjoyed the many good friends she made at Park Centre over the years.  She enjoyed and was able to travel with Willie on his motorcycle. 

   Dorothy is survived by her daughter Barbara (Wenton) Wyatt of Grinnell; her two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; and her many good neighbors and friends. 

   She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband Willie on April 1, 1992.
