Obituary of Jennie Louise McKinney

Jennie L. McKinney Jennie Louise, went home to be with her Savior on May 20, 2018, at Newton Health Care. Visitation will be 10 a.m. till 11 a.m., Friday, May 25, 2018, at Pence~Reese Funeral Home. A time of remembrance and Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 25, at the Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton. Burial will be at Newton Union Cemetery, Veteran's Section. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to the family or to a charity of your choosing, in Louise's name. The family would like to thank Newton Health Care for the special loving care they showed Louise. Jennie Louise McKinney, 88, of Newton, was born February 3, 1930, near Lynnville, Iowa, the daughter of Peter Frederick and Ella (Vannewhuizen) Swank. On March 6, 1947, Louise and Kenneth K. McKinney were united in marriage in Newton. She was employed by the Vernon Company as a machine operator from 1962, until she retired in 1989. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, devoted to her family and was a member of the Newton V.F.W. Auxiliary #111. Louise is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Tom and Mary of Kellogg, John and Cheryl of Knoxville and Linda McKinney of Newton; her five grandchildren: Mike, Troy, Chris, Jessica and Michelle; her nine great-grandchildren; her brother and sisters: Fred Swank, Mae Norvell, and Barb Hartgers; several nieces and nephews; and many good neighbors and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Kenneth on August 16, 2004; her son Edwin McKinney; a sister Margaret Laffoon-Wearmouth; and brothers: Jim Swank and Pete Swank Jr..
