Obituary of Arthur Barton Padgett

Arthur "Bart" Padgett, the son of Arthur Charles and Edith Mary (Smith) Padgett, was born July 5, 1946 in Newton, Iowa. He graduated from the Newton Senior High School and attended Marshalltown Community College. He served his country in the United States Army in Vietnam.
Bart worked for Mid-State Construstion in Baxter, Iowa. He chose to live a simple life, often keeping to himself.
Bart died on Sunday, March 23rd at his home. Those left to honor Bart's memory include his brothers and their families, William Padgett of Colfax, Iowa and Robert Padgett of Newton, Iowa.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 27th at the Newton Union Cemetery. Family and friends may gather at the Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. Thursday. A time of visitation with the family will be held from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening at the Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton.
