Marjorie M. Vermillion

Marjorie went home to be with her Savior on April 15, 2018, at her home at Park Centre in Newton.

A time of remembrance and celebration of life will be Saturday, May 12, 2018, at the Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton, with visitation with the family just prior to the services and at a fellowship time following the services at the funeral home. Please, in lieu of flowers memorials may be designated to Marjorie's family or to a charity of your choosing.

Marjorie M. Vermillion, 92, was born July 20, 1925, in Beamon, Iowa. The daughter of Clare Orian and Lulu Eunice (Elliot) Myers, she lived in Beamon as a child, graduating from the Newton Senior High School and later from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, with a Teaching Degree.

On February 14, 1947, Marjorie and Bill J. Vermillion were united in marriage in Newton. Marjorie had taught kindergarten and first grade in an elementary school. She devoted her life to her family, and enjoyed socializing with her many friends, playing cards, knitting, dancing and years of bowling when she was able.

Marjorie is survived by her son Steve J. Vermillion of Chico, CA; her grandchildren: Alexander Vermillion. Melissa Vermillion and Brandon Vermillion; her great-grandchildren: Micah, Nina, Austin and Olivia; and her many good neighbors and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Bill; her sons: Neil and David; a sister Eunice Russell; and her brothers: Keith, Martin, Robert and William.
