Veta F. Nelson Veta Nelson passed from this life on Friday morning, December 16, 2016, at Skiff Medical Center of Newton. Veta Faye Nelson, 41, was born February 2, 1975, in Newton, the daughter of Raymond Earl and Mary Loise (Woodley) Elam. She had attended the Newton Senior High School. On August 30, 2014, Veta was united in marriage with Donald E. Nelson, Jr. at the New Life Community Church of the Nazarene. She was employed by Wal-Mart as a truck unloader, by TPI in Newton and also as a CNA. She enjoyed art, drawing, and was an avid Michael Jackson fan. Veta is survived by her husband Donald; her sons: Thomas Joe White and Christopher Osborn; a daughter Tangelina Sutton; her mother Mary Seals; a brother Ron Orndorff; and her many friends. She was preceded in death by her father; a sister Reta Elam and a brother Kevin Orndorff. A time of remembrance and celebration of life graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 23, 2016, at the Waveland Cemetery in Prairie City, conducted by Pastor Walter King of Centerville. Pence – Reese Funeral Home in Newton, have been entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the family in Veta's name or a charity of your choosing.
