Doyle, 90, passed away Saturday morning, May 28, 2016 at Nelson Manor in Newton. A Time of Remembrances for Doyle, will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 2, 2016, at the Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton. Burial will be in Newton Union Cemetery. A time of Fellowship and Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral. In lieu of flowers memorials have been designated in Doyle’s name. Gordon Doyle Churchill, the son of Ralph Offil and Nora Evelyn (Leader) Churchill, was born July 12, 1925, in Prairie City. He was a graduate of the Prairie City Senior High, Class of 1942. On February 19, 1950, Doyle was united in marriage with Louise Binns in Oskaloosa. He devoted his life to his wife and family, and was a member of the Community Heights Alliance Church. He loved the outdoors and to work the land, and actively farmed until his retirement in 1990. Those left to honor Doyle's memory include his daughters: Jolane “Jo” Williams of Augusta, Georgia and Jane (Bruce) Keith of Newton; his two grandchildren,Craig (Angie) Keith and Carmen Keith (Srikanth Shangarapu) and his three great-grandchildren, Nate, Libbie and Bristol; his brother Hubert (Wilma) Churchill of Newton; and his many friends. Doyle was preceded in death by his parents; one sister Evelyn Brashear; and three brothers: Lester Churchill, Harold Churchill and Dwight Churchill.
