Obituary of Bonnie Louise Cuthrell

Bonnie Louise Cuthrell, the daughter of Harry H. and Claribel (Sampson) Hansen, was born October 1, 1932 in Lucedale, MS. Her family moved to the Germantown, Iowa area in 1936. Bonnie attended Caledonia #1, St. John parochial school and graduated from Paullina High School. On July 29, 1951, Bonnie was united in marriage with Floyd Cuthrell in Germantown, Iowa. Bonnie lived most of her life in Ankeny, Iowa wintering in Riviera, Texas after retiring from US West. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, baking and traveling. Bonnie died on Saturday, August, 22, 2015 at Nelson Manor in Newton, Iowa. She was 82 years old. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Floyd; a daughter, Julie Cuthrell; her two brothers, Eldon Hansen and Marvin Hansen; her step mother, Annie Nielsen Jorgensen Hansen; and a step brother, Glen Jorgensen. Those left to honor Bonnie's memory include her three daughters, Katherine (Doug) Wilken of Newton, Iowa, Jacquelyn Unger of Winterville, North Carolina and Dayna (Bob) Weier of Hawaii; her seven grandchildren; her four great grandchildren; several step grandchildren; her step brother, David (Jeanette) Jorgensen of Lakefield, Minnesota; her step sister, Elna (Ron) Mortenson of Ft. Meyers, Florida; and step sister-in-law, Helen Jorgensen of Paullina, Iowa. Private burial of Bonnie's cremated remains will be held at a later date at the Marcus Amherst Cemetery in Marcus, Iowa. Memorials may be designated in Bonnie's name to Iowa Public Television and may be left at the Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton, Iowa.
